Seniorcentrum Opava, p.o. is a contributory organization of the City of Opava, which provides services to seniors and people with disabilities. It is about: residential service - Domov sv. Catherine field service – Terrain nursing service - accommodation for seniors in separate apartments, lunch delivery and senior point as counselling service for seniors.

Slezská Univerzita v Opavě – Silesian University in Opava
University of the Third Age (U3V) U3V programs implemented by the university are programs that meet the general principles set for this type of programs by the Association of Universities of the Third Age in the Czech Republic. They are intended for the senior population, ie citizens of retirement age,
but its participants may exceptionally also be listeners who have reached the age of 50 (the so-called 50+ generation). They are based on areas of study in which studies in accredited study programs are carried out. They are usually implemented in the form of hobby courses lasting one or two semesters. Framework two-year programs take the form of lectures. Teaching usually takes place during the individual semesters; winter semester in September to December, summer semester in March (January) to May. Lectures or hobby courses are held once a week in the range of 2 teaching hours, a total of 12-15 weeks per semester. The maximum scope of teaching is 60 teaching hours per academic year. One of the conditions for successful completion is the elaboration of a test or seminar work at the end of each semester. Certificates of successful completion of U3V programs are presented to successful graduates in a ceremonial manner with the participation of the Rector, Vice-Rectors, Dean or Vice-Deans.
